What, When, Who?
Through this website, you will be able to register for the conference and apply for a scholarship if needed.
A regional consultation only makes sense if a great number of activists attend, from a variety of sexual orientations and identities and from all regions of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is equally important though that groups decide for themselves what will be the agenda of this meeting, prior to the conference. Here, you will also be able to join forums where you, as groups but also as individuals will be able to contribute to the agenda of the conference.
You will be able to make proposals for the program of the conference by proposing workshops or suggesting themes you would like to see addressed. The conference will also provide members of the federation the opportunity to decide how they wish ILGA’s regional chapter for Latin America and the Caribbean to develop, who it should be represented by, what should be its aims and its work-plan.
We invite all LGBT activists to join a discussion on this website regarding the existing Latin American and Caribbean regional body within ILGA and the way forward to consolidate both ILGA-LAC and the LGBT movement in the region.
You can also make proposals to amend ILGA LAC’s regional constitution and Standing orders which were adopted at the first ILGA LAC conference in Rio de Janeiro in 2000.
Should you need more information regarding the conference, please contact ILGA at ilga-lac@ilga.org
Instituto Runa is in charge of organizing the conference on the ground. A number of other LGBT groups are also involved in preparing this conference.
ILGA is seeking funds for this initiative in close collaboration with FELGT (the Spanish LGBT national federation).
